Snowboarding is now loved by many people as they consider this a fun and recreational activity. There is no need to worry if you are still a novice in this sport because with the proper equipment and snowboarding gear, you can easily make your way into the cold powdery snow. Whether you are a beginner who still has a lot to learn, or an expert who is already a professional in this snow sport, if you only have the budget, you can easily provide yourself with protective and safety gear like helmets, wrist pads, warm clothing, and snowboarding knee pads.

With constant practice, learning how to snowboard can be mastered on the snow in no time. First and foremost is to choose the location where you desire to perform the activity; as well as the type of snowboarding you desire, whether in the mountain slopes or at the park. Next is to prepare all your gear to ensure that you are safe when you are already exposed to the snow. If you are already wearing the proper outfit, evaluate how your snowboarding boots will work with your snowboard. How the boots are tied securely to your board will greatly affect your performance. Tying the boots too loosely will make movement very difficult that is why it is a must to tie it as tightly as you can.

As soon as you are already on top of the slope, strap your foot to the snowboard where the bindings will securely bind your foot on the board. Your free foot will control how you start your snowboard from moving. You will gain experience and master the different kinds of snowboarding tricks with constant practice. If you are still a beginner, first go for the simple moves. Wearing a helmet is imperative as you make your way down the slope while keeping away from rocks, trees, and very steep slopes. As a starter you would be experiencing a lot of situations like falling, therefore the use of a helmet is strongly recommended. Even if you are already an expert, wearing the helmet is all the more necessary since you are more prone to accidents as you try more dangerous tricks while covering more ground.

Aside from the helmet, snowboarders should wear snowboarding kneepads below the pants. Sometimes, falling to the ground endangers the knees and wearing them prevents any injuries. Aside from the knee pads, it is also advisable to wear elbow pads as you can also fall down on your butt and head where you can reach the ground with your elbows first. This prevents the hands from being fractured which can affect your performance when you do your daily activities.

Wear inside clothes that will keep you warm but are waterproof as there are also jackets and pants that are intended for snowboarding. The clothes will keep you warm from the cold but will keep you from being wet from the melting snow.

These are the snowboarding protective gears that you need to wear while performing this snow sport in order to enjoy the activity more while being protected from accidents and injuries.

The Tech Deck Snowboards is an online game which is similar in concept to the other online Activision Value games like Boards & Blades and Extreme Boards & Blades. The famous sport of snowboarding is simulated in this game where the only distinguishing factor is the terrain which is snow against the land. The game features challenging races and performance of stunts on six different tracks where each can be as challenging as the other. The game includes a bonus wallpaper and screensaver and you can create your own competing snowboarders.

The tech deck snowboarding game begins by grabbing your snowboard and preparing yourself for a snowboarding adventure online. The game features four different events separate from each other. These are the adventure laden Boarder X, the equally challenging Monster Air, the many exploits in Monster Air Races, and lots of quests in the X Tour.

You can go for speeds of up to 130 kilometers per hour in Boarder X. You go down a slalom course where your speed and accuracy is tested. Your snowboarder must pass the flags in accurate order to avoid disqualification. In order to advance to the next level, there are only a number of mistakes allowed depending on the three skill levels chosen. Only three mistakes are allowed at the most difficult skill level. However, in the first levels, eight or more mistakes are permitted. Each track totaling six in number; contains several rounds wherein you must allow yourself not to be defeated before you can move on to the next level.

Monster Air brings you on a mountain ramp where you are required to perform tricks. This is accomplished by pressing the arrow keys for starting a jump in order to win. Good tricks will allow you to advance to the next round but simply landing on your feet isn’t that good.

The Monster Air Races consists of several jumps on slalom while completing tricks successively. Your total time increases when successful trick are performed. The total time added also depends on the kind of trick you perform. You will be disqualified when the time runs out, as the only way to complete the entire race is to advance to the next round and cross the finish line.

The X Tour is an event where the combined challenges found in both the Monster Air Races and the slalom courses of Boarder X are faced.

Before you commence playing the four modes of the tech deck snowboarding online game, select your character first from among the four characters available. Each of the characters is fitted with three different outfits where you also get to choose from the different boards. Each of the boards has unique ratings that are based on speed and agility.

After completing your character selection, choose which of the three modes of play in any of the four events do you like, the solo race, against the clock, or against other snowboarders. When you want to play against a ghost character which appears, you will make it to the second round. This happens in the solo race. If you play against the clock, in the time allotted; you should complete the course on monster air or slalom. If you play against other snowboarders, all events will be against the other three characters you didn’t choose. You will lose the round if one of them beats you in the latter mode, or your ghost racer wins.

As soon as the autumn comes, the number of new snowboard movies also increases as shown in weekend events and film festivals. Typical examples are the snow film festival that rolls over one weekend in Lower Manhattan before winter and the Snow Film Fest NYC also on November. The purpose of these film festivals are clearly seen with a commercial purpose, to feed the hunger of the snow-deprived skiers and snowboarders before the snowboarding season comes.

Most of the line-up of the movies shown for this festival provides different views of the skiing and snowboarding world as well as reviews of famous ski resorts. This is one way ski resort owners around the world show what they have to their potential customers as they are featured in the festival. Here are some of the titles of the snow sports movies particularly for snowboarders; shown in the festival.

Nowadays, the quality of the movies has now grown as compared to the movies we watch in the olden times which were just little snow adventures. These are now worth taking a look as these movies now demonstrate the variety, creativity, and richness of these two well-known sports during the winter season.

F*ck It. It is widely known that snowboarders around the world recognize that the coming of different seasons has its hardships and difficulties. They are a strange bunch in this film where some refuse to give in to common sense and some even face uncertain death in the cold snow. Despite the adversity, there are those who refuse to surrender and they have the solution to every problem. In the movie, it’s how you respond that is going to matter. This is under the production of Forum by executive producer Bryan Know.

Stance. This movie emphasizes the increasing growth of woman snowboarders reaching the heights where before, they were consistently denied. The film has as its objective the creation of the most innovative snowboarding film for women to date. This commences a bigger initiative to push snowboarding boundaries in a cinematic and creative way. This is produced by JMills Entertainment’s Stan Evans.

Hello World. This film tries to deliver cinematic style while showcasing the technical snowboarding drill called freestyle at its highest level. This shows another niche in the snowboarding culture while presenting its attack on this snow sport. This movie is produced by Alterna Film’s Carlo Wein.

These are just some of the films shown in the snow festivals which clearly shows how matured and developed these skiing and snowboarding movies has become.

There are lots of people nowadays who now consider buying their snowboards and their snowboarding equipment online. Because of the increasing popularity of the sport, online retailers are now taking advantage of this. However, many consumers are still in a quandary on whether it is worth their money to buy snowboards online. Others doubt the move and wonder if there is any sense in making an online purchase. And there are others who will advise you that you need to inspect the boards before buying one. So why would you really buy snowboards online?

In reality, selling online has already grown in many areas in the past years. Although there have been predictions that consumers will find it slow to adapt to the world of online shopping, there has already been a transformation of the trend. Nowadays, there are already a lot of products being sold online, as well as many items being bought through the web as well. It comes as no surprise then to find that snowboards, snowboarding equipment, clothing, and other snowboarding accessories are now all sold online.

Many consumers are happy to see a lot of bargains online. Retail stores in the Internet can readily offer these because they have lower overhead costs which mean they can offer their products at a lesser price. In addition, shopping through the web is very convenient especially nowadays when life is so fast-paced and we find it difficult to squeeze the time for going around the town. Time is very limited in going shopping and hopping from one store to another in search of what we want.

Aside from the elimination of the need to travel to physical stores which can also become too tiresome because of the traffic and the heat, we can find that there are also a lot of choices for products online. This is the beauty of online purchase as you can readily compare prices, brands, models, color, and features of the product that you intend to buy. Besides, there are assortments of offers coming from an extremely wide range of online retail shops and stores. Therefore, getting the product that we want is easier and faster.

We have access to most of the products in less time than when we go shopping and choose them from stores downtown. If our choices are the branded and quality snowboards and snowboarding gears, like Burton, Imperium, and Lib Tech; you can immediately see the price tag, the savings that you can get, and if you can strike a bargain or not.

The Nitro Company has been a dedicated producer of snowboards and snowboarding gear for 15 years now. They began in Seattle, Washington in the year 1990 when 2 snowboarders were prompted to make quality gears as they didn’t find many good choices of these in the market. When snowboarding is your passion, you remain true to the sport and this will become your passion. With this as their goal, they progressed into producing products with innovation in design, materials, and technology.

The Nitro Company has a history of innovations in the snowboarding industry such as the first pro-model for women, the first twin-tip that is asymmetrical, the first freestyle binding that is three-piece and adjustable, and the side cuts that are progressive. These are just a few of the new products they came up with. All of these products start with designs from the US and then engineered and crafted in Europe which takes them to the next level. Their products are now manufactured worldwide, thoroughly tested, and distributed internationally. They are committed to build the best riding boards on the market.

This year, nitro snowboards 2011 come in all widths according to categories, where there are more options to choose from. Here are the options for the 2011 snowboards. The

Magnum Blackout 165

This snowboard will allow you to fly safely down the slopes in a very fast manner. Its powerful core is constructed out of poplar wood giving the snowboard super strength. The side cut which is progressive helps you maneuver turns and corners while providing more speed. This board also gives you the benefit of faster acceleration during turns which is perfect for those joining the amateur races.

The Pro Series Gross Out Eerie Eero 156

For those who want an eerie design for their snowboards, this is the latest in the sport of snowboarding which encompasses sadistic and weird moves. This is their treat for their fans as it offers a very flexible core for the board, control that is topnotch, and effortless turns in whatever speed you are in. This is one of the designs preferred by those who still feel like a kid inside.

The Pro Series Gross Out Jon Kooley 153

This snowboard is an all-mountain style for the rugged performer. With a combat core that is made from wood composite, it is engineered for quick response and durability. The fiberglass laminate which is biaxial ensures the rider of quick turns and smooth glides. At high speeds, the side cut which is radial provides efficient control on the edges. The tapered tip allows conserving energy while reducing the weight for swings and spins. The board allows you to be easily noticed in parks because it offers style that will surely turn heads to your direction.

The Capita Snowboards 2011 line of snowboards is easily available online as there is a large selection of these boards and other snowboarding gear on the web. Here are some of the well-known boards from Capita sold and shipped within 24 hrs after the order is placed.

The Charlie Slasher FK Snowboard164 in black is a true tapered board designed for snowboarding at a reasonable price. The tip is fit for freestyle maneuvers and the tail is shaped to a camber area for a single reverse. It keeps the insert pack forward, keeping the nose always above the snowline. Most of the flaw in companies is to make powder boards engineered to have full rock also in the tail area. This lessens the stability of the product in pow landings. It also necessitates a lot of energy to be used to stabilize your body weight and evenly distributed throughout for a smooth ride. This has a flat base which makes riding easier, an energy saver, and changes the tiring ride into an energetic and wonderful one.

The Indoor Survival FK Snowboard158, colored red; is also enjoyed for freestyle stunts. For durability, this includes a configuration of fiberglass with reinforcements of carbon Kevlar. The steel edges are 360 degrees and it has speed base which is wax-infused allowing it to go extremely fast but easy to take in turns. The core is also made form sustainable and reforestation certified wood. The top sheet is made by direct digital and has a base inlay of Aluminum logo.

The Indoor Survival Snowboard 154 is a very responsive and durable freestyle boards. These are the favorite of most customers in the Capita line of snowboards. This is because they proved to survive whether utilized inside or outside the park. They are also the number one selling products in Japan and have gotten an award for freestyle boards, the Transworld Good Wood award. These are offered in both reverse camber and cambered flat kick versions; and are twin-shaped that can equally go forward and backward.

The Mid Life Snowboard 151. This snowboard provides a true experience with the use of twin freestyle as it boasts of a frame that is wider, side cut which is slightly deeper, shoulders that are more pronounced, and the tip and tail have distinct shapes. This is designed and ridden by the Capita’s owner, Mr. Tj Schneider.

Actually, there are inconsistent stories about who the pioneer of snowboarding is but what is obvious is that the first boards were originally coming from toy snowboards. Few facts remain invariable though, in every article of history being read. Here is the overview of the major moments showing the period where snowboarding finds its way today.

1929: M.J. Burchett utilized clothesline and fastened his feet to a piece of plywood for reining while steering and gliding it over the snow.

1963: There is actually a 30 year gap seen between the first attempt and the next major breakthrough. Tom Sims, an eighth grade student in shop class, built a board from plywood, which he called a “ski board”.

1965: After two years when the “ski board” was introduced, Sherman Poppen created “The Snurfer” consisting of two skis bolted together. Originally, he made this as toy snowboards for his children and later organized events to compete with the Snurfer.

1970′s: The decade saw snowboarding building its strong foundation. An east coast surfer whose name was Dimitrije Milovich, came out with an idea of making snowboards similar to surfing but closely resembling the mechanics of skiing. Milovich and his snowboard “Winterstick” were featured in Newsweek magazine 5 years after that. The now famous name in snowboarding history, Jake Burton, used fiberglass and wood bent with steam in the construction of his boards. He even went as far as adding steel edges on the bindings and sides for greater support and control.

1980: The equally well-known sport of skiing helped developed the snowboards by accidental use of a P-Tex base originated by the Burton and Winterstick manufacturers of snowboards.

1982: The snowboarding race run called “The Face”, which was the first to happen internationally was made at Suicide Six in Vermont.

Mid 80′s: This is a difficult period for the snowboarding community where only 39 ski resorts out of more that 600 allowed “snow surfers”. The snowboarders have limited access to resorts where they could ride freely.

1997: Everything has changed at this time because the banning of snowboarders had stopped and the new sport is now widely accepted. This sport is now in equal footing with skiing worldwide.

Today: The sport has now grown and is now considered the fastest growing winter sport. About 20% of people who visit the ski resorts in the U.S. are snowboarders. The projection for the coming years favors snowboarding rather than skiing as a sport.

If you are interested in getting into snowboarding but cannot afford a brand new one, choosing second hand is not such a bad idea. You may even get blessed and find a slightly used snowboard. There are some people who are interested in the sport but know little about the gears used and don’t have friends who are snowboarders, too. The best thing to do when you are in this kind of dilemma is to make a quick search in the Internet where there are a lot of forums providing you quick answers to your queries.

Getting the answers to your problems and coupled with the little amount of knowledge you have, you will surely find it easy to choose the right board that you are going to use. First is to decide what type of snowboarding you will be doing whether you will be performing most of your practices at the park or in the mountain slopes. If you enjoy just mountain boarding, or you are more inclined for the speed, this is a factor you need to consider.

In the choice of second hand snowboards, always check the layers like the sidewall and sandwich, and make sure the lamination is secure and are not split. Also ensure that the inserts are still in better form. Find a board constructed with a cap as this type doesn’t have a sidewall wherein it functions for better flexing and is also stronger. Consider also if it has an effective edge which is the area of the board that actually touches the snow. Shorter effective edge will work better for tighter and sharper maneuvers. But when it has a longer effective edge, the board will have more stability making it more efficient at faster speeds.

Aside from the effective edge, try to inspect also the top sheet thoroughly. Watch out if there are signs of cracks which can be obviously seen in the areas that were bounded. This will often indicate that there are problems with the product. There is no need to worry about the little bit of scratches unless the aesthetic looks of the product is really that important to you. The choice will depend on your own preference.

It is also imperative that you need to assess the flex. The snowboard is placed on a level surface, flex the board and try to see if it still has a springy feel. If it does not spring too much and it feels soft and dead, look for another. Also be wary of core shots which occur when the P-Tex material is badly chipped, gouged, or damaged. Check also the bindings by doing a manual inspection of its “use by” date. This should not deteriorate as fast as the other board parts.

Consider also the snowboards that are designed with different specifications for men and women. Because women are generally smaller in built, they must be looking for a lighter and smaller board. However, for the taller woman, choose a board that is a bit wider but not too long. These snowboarding gears can be bought online but it is best if you can actually go to a shop and touch the product. Snowboarding retail shops selling second hand equipment abound and you can ask the proprietors, as they are more obliged to help you.

Since 1995 and until the present, Arbor has already been evolving their snowboards over the passing years. The art scene obviously seen in their boards is derived from the influence of the surf and skate. They also instill in the minds of the snowboarders to continue utilizing environmental efforts in the use of their snowboards with riding solutions that are sustainable. They also build their boards following technology of the next level.

All Arbor snowboards 2011 are designed mostly for riders who can do different amazing tricks down the slopes. Most is not all of their mountain snowboards 2011 passed through the artful hands of Zach Johnsen for the graphics. The boards were built for performance which is reliable even through the tightest trees and in the deep pow-pow.

For the year 2012, the company continues to offer the System technology to snowboard riders. They give riders combinations from park, jib, and mountain in ten different models. They combine the system with their board’s featured grip tech giving an added contact point under the foot for a more direct edge control. They are coming out with new boards coming out in 2012 are the blacklist, roundhouse RX, swoon, and relapse.

The key features of the Arbor snowboards are the following:

1. Bamboo Power Ply. The Arbor’s Power Ply constructed out of bamboo functions like a fiberglass of three layers. Today, bamboo is now considered the building material that can support sustainable growth.

2. Bio-Film. The boards are built with a top foil that is ultra-thin but affords maximum protection and made with the use of 30% caster bean-based bio-plastic.

3. Mystic Core. Arbor boasts of an inner core designed for forceful and active riding in parks and in the mountains. This is built using FSC-certified poplar that is sustainably produced and reinforced with bamboo along the rails. This is intended for landing durability and improved initiation.

4. Shadow Flex. The board delivers park and mountain performance with its slightly tapered and thin core profile between the bindings. This feature enhances the rider’s initiation during spins and turns. With this, tracking can be done easily in mixed conditions; whether on the flats, during landings, and performance on boxes, rails, and naturals.

When spending quality time on the slopes with the use of this board, riders discovered that it is totally fun to ride all day. It provides excitement and exhilaration jumping back and forth from the pipe, to the park, and then back to the slopes. With the many things Arbor has done with their boards, you won’t be sorry buying and getting to ride one.

The legacy of Technine has been built entirely on their bindings. As their first prototype has been made 15 years ago and until the present time, the company has not stopped evolving. The company has as its goal the making of bindings that aids the riders in accomplishing their ultimate experience in snowboarding. With testing done thoroughly and intensively made by their team of professional riders, new products are developed that last longer and perform better, as well as updating of the old ones; where all the products made provide comfort. They only use the very best hardware and construction materials soothe bindings will be able to do the work instead of you. Their bindings are truly ergonomic, with the straps very comfortable, and the accurate shaping of their bindings allows you to concentrate on your riding instead of the stuff strapped on your feet.

The Technine snowboard bindings boasts of the following key features:

1. 14% Short Fiberglass and Nylon Base Plate. The Technine base plates are constructed from nylon polymers that are custom-formulated, and with fiberglass that are short-grained. This allows the bindings to become extra strong but are supple and stretchy enough for both the professional and entry level riders. The company’s extensive laboratory and actual testing on-mountain ensures that the final products meet the standards of strict performance under the Technine Team.

2. Pro-Frame Heel Cup. The Pro frame is the foundation of the Pro series. The front mounting points is brought forward of the mounting disk, allowing the grade frame immediate response both on heel and toe side turns. The base plate is also laterally soft without losing leverage or support from front to back.

3. All Nylon High Back. The high backs are built from the most durable mixture of nylon polymers which provide the right blend of flex and comfort. The ultra-quick response provided does not allow you to worry about breakage. The bottom shaped like a cup and EVA pads molded in comfort dampen vibration and offer a stable grip to your boot to eliminate heel lift. The bindings offer independent rotation as these avoid interference with the adjustment of the ankle strap.

4. Comfort King II Ankle Strap. The ankle strap features multi-density EVA which fits smoothly like a velvet glove. Together with the Baltimore toe strap, your feet works with you and keeps your mind focused on your riding.

5. Baltimore Toe Strap. This is designed to bring down the boots and positioned securely into the heel cup. The toe strap gives the ultimate response while riding, equally distributed pressure across the boot, and eliminate discomfort and unwanted pressure points. The company was the first to bring the toe strap technology to the snowboard industry but no one was able to duplicate it.

6. Molded One-Piece EVA TechBed. The TechBed foot beds provide ultimate support for your boots. This feature does away with the unfilled spot on most bindings where the disc sits, contributing to response loss and foot fatigue.
